Single to LF

No runners on
P C 1B 2B SS 3B LF CF RF
Movement Throw/Relay Ball
P
Pitcher:
Sprint to the grass behind 2B (but stay out of the runner lane). You are the backup if a throw gets past 2B.
C
Catcher:
Run up the 1B line a few steps to back up 1B. Be ready if the runner turns back or there’s an overthrow.
1B
1B:
After the runner touches 1B, get on/near the bag. Give the runner a lane, and be ready for a quick tag or back-pick.
2B
2B:
Cover 2B hard. Show a target and expect the relay. Tag if the runner goes for 2B.
SS
SS:
Move to a cut/relay spot between LF and 2B. Line up with the ball and 2B. Catch → turn → throw low.
3B
3B:
Stay near 3B in case the runner tries for extra bases or the ball kicks away.
LF
LF:
Charge, field clean, and make a strong low throw to the relay (SS) or straight to 2B if you can.
CF
CF:
Sprint toward LF to back them up. If the ball gets by LF, stop it fast and keep the runner from taking extra bases.
RF
RF:
Move toward the infield to back up the relay/2B side. Be ready for a wild throw.
⭐ Main idea
Main goal: keep the runner at 1st. If they try for 2nd, the relay should be quick and low.
🗣️ Communication
1B talks to infield: 'Runner!' Infield calls: 'Cut!' 'Two!' 'Hold!'
